Toronto city council has voted earlier this summer to help citizens fight the bed bug epidemic that is plaguing the city. With Mayor Rob Ford’s approval the Health Board received the provincial funding required to fight the pests.

The 1 million funding strategy for the specifically assigned bed bug team will have the resources necessary to help deal with the problem.

The truth of the matter is that Toronto has a big bed bug problem. Just go to the bed bug registry to see how many reports of bed bugs get logged every day. And these are only a fraction of the cases out there. There are many that go unreported.

Is this going to prove to be a good solution or will the money be wasted on bureaucracy. Maybe it would be best to leave it to local businesses rather than having the city interfere. lets see.
